<h1>Terminal & the Command Line & Git</h1>
<p>Git over your fear of the command line and start using Git, it's easy!</p>
<h2>Steps to using terminal & git:</h2>
<p>Step 1: Create a repository on github.com</p>
<p>Step 2: Open up Terminal, search <strong>"$ git cd Desktop"</strong></p>
<p>Step 3: Taking the HTTPS url on the side of your repo on github.com, type into Terminal <strong>"$git clone https://github.uconn.edu/crc13003/my-first-repo.git"</strong></p>
<p>Step 4: Add files into the folder created on your desktop</p>
<p>Step 5: In terminal, use the command <strong>"$ git status"</strong>. The files you put into the folder should pop up.</p>
<p>Step 6: In terminal, use the command <strong>"$ git commit -a -m 'write your message here'"</strong>, this makes changes into your local repo.</p>
<p>Step 7: Finally, to get all the changes onto your github account online, for others to see, type into Terminal <strong>"$git push"</strong></p>

<p>If you want a copy of the project onto your computer, you will clone it to the location you prefer with this command.</p>

<p>git commit, puts all of your changes into the repository that you made on your project.</p>
