Otl Aicher Cards

Design 1: Typography - Fall 2016

Assignment: Take a design movement, and a specific designer, to write a short essay on. Create a series of four informative cards using the essay as the text, along with examples of the designer's work.

Otl Aicher is most well known for his work on the 1972 Munich Olympics branding, his landscape pictograms promoting the Allgäu region in Germany, and his International Typographic style. I utilized a simple color palette, rigid grid, and perfectly balanced white space in my info cards, as inspired by his use of the International Typographic style.
