What is Github?

Github is a hosting service for software development and version control using Git. It provides the distributed version control of Git plus access control, bug tracking, software feature requests, task management, continuous integration, and wikis for every project

Github.com is a publicly available website available on the Internet. Github.uconn.edu is a internally hosted version of the Github service exclusively for use by the University of Connecticut. Github.uconn.edu is hosted at the UConn Storrs campus. All data resides on the Storrs campus. Access to the service is only available to UConn community members and affiliates
