Hello my name is Andy Wang and I am junior majoring in Computer Science. I enjoy playing games that require strategy. Most of the games I play are mobile games. Some of mobile games I like to play are PUBG, Puzzle and Dragons, Clash Royale,Hearthstone and most puzzle games. As for PC gaming, I am still quite new to it. The only PC games that I have played are NBA 2K, Super Smash Bros, and experimented some title games like GTA V, League of Legend, and CSGO. I think the main problem with PC games for me is the VR motion sickness you get from playing first person. Because of this I would say the games I want to make would accomodate this with smoother motion or having a third person view. I like action games that require some kind of fighting as well as strategy to play. I would say what got me interested in game design was when my sister, who came home one day to show to me and the family a game she had made in one of her programming classes. The simple game caught my attention because it showed to me that you needn't be a genius to create games. This is what prompted me to major in Computer Science and use the opportunity to take the game design class here at Uconn. I remember playing this game "Mask of Ninja: The Last Hero" made in 2012 that I used to love on my Iphone but now since the game no longer updated I am unabled to be play it anymore. I want to replicate it and try to remake it. What I want to get out of this class is a sense of understanding the world of games and how they are made. I want to learn important concepts and mechanics about game design that I can apply in the future.
